At the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts
http://reenajbhambra.com/?feed=rss2 Following the success of our first and second ‘WE change the world DAYs’, we are happy to officially announce ‘We Can Change The World Day 3″! This is a two-hour show for youth and their families. Inspired by Free the Children’s ‘We Day’, WCCTWD3 is our biennial feature catered to an audience of over 600 people. It is fueled by the desire for change, and the hope that the world can be a better place. It is part of the movement of our time and it encourages youth and their adult allies to act. The event celebrates our youth’s global citizenship, and kick-starts a new year of “changing the world”.
What you can expect
Expect to be WOWed by local talent — some recognized North American-wide. Be surprised when you start to sing and dance along. Be prepared to be moved by stories of accomplishment and perseverance. Be inspired by what can be achieved when a community works together. This event is known to feature local and international artists and performers such as Free the Children founder, Craig Kielburger and Free the Children ambassador, Spencer West who inspire our community to be changemakers. See LAST year’s line up.
Your attendance at this event means you are a part of this energetic and compassionate community, one which is working hard to raise awareness and funds to adopt our next village in India.
Expect to say by the end of the event, “Yes, WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!”
‘We Day’ is now an international movement with events in Canada, the US, and the United Kingdom. It inspires the younger generation to act towards a brighter and better future for the entire world. After attending the Toronto “We Day” in 2012 the founders of ‘We Can Change the World Day’ were inspired to relay the message to a more local audience; engaging and motivating their community’s youth, celebrating local talents and fundraising accomplishments, and thus “We Can Change The World Day” was born.
There are a lot of ways to get involved. Whether you want to be a part of the planning for the event, are interested in running a lemonade stand, want to be a part of Paint 4 Change, wish to sponsor the event, or to volunteer on the day of the event…there are lots of ways to be creative to help create change. We would love your help. Together our community is making a difference in people’s lives…in more ways than one.
